In Memoriam
Please join Bedminster Township in a tribute to Joseph R. Cirona, former Mayor and Township Committeeman for Bedminster, who passed away Christmas morning. Sincere sympathy to his family during this difficult time.

Joseph R. Cirona, former Bedminster Mayor and owner of Copy Right Press, Inc. in Bedminster, died peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was 85. Joe was always ready to step up to help Bedminster whenever he was needed and did so many times. After the passing of Committeewoman Anne O’Brien, Joe filled her seat on the Township Committee in 1988 and was elected as Mayor in 1989 and served as Mayor until 1991. Joe stepped up again in 2006 when Kurt Joerger resigned from office. Joe joined the Township Committee and finished out that year.
Joe was the son of the late Giacomo and Rafaella Cirona, brother to the late, Frank, James, John, and Mary Firminger (Cirona). Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived the past 47 years in Bedminster. He served in the US Army. Joe was very active in Bedminster Township, serving on various Boards and Committees in Bedminster. Joe’s true love was maintaining his lawn and his flower gardens. Joe was recognized by the Bridgewater Flower Club for his outstanding gardens. He considered himself a self-schooled vet/doctor, “ Doc Cirona”, caring for horses, guinea hens, dogs, and grandkids. Known as Papa or Pop, Joe’s happiest times were spent with his grandchildren. Joe, could be found at the corner of Victory and Country Club Road, as the official “neighborhood watch dog” 24/7. Passerby’s weren’t getting by him without a wave and a smile or a U TURN in his driveway. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Arlene "Chick" (Masula) Cirona; children, Christine Cirona, Denise Cirona, James Cirona; grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Taylor, Carly ; and sister Anita Bricker. A private service for the Family will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Due to COVID, the Family, will be arranging a public Memorial Service, in the spring 2021; in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Leonard J Buck Garden, 11 Layton Road, Far Hills, NJ.
