a. Short-Term Rentals
Following a discussion with concerned residents at the March 5th meeting, the topic of short-term rentals through providers such as Air BnB is being investigated by the Township Committee. Cm Stevinson reported the Zoning Official has completed mailing notifications to potential rental properties requesting they register with the town. As a result, landlord registrations have increased due to this investigation. Recent correspondence from the Zoning Official to landlords is being provided to the Township Committee.
b. Engine Braking
Cm Jacobs reported that he has received information from residents near Rt. 206 regarding restricted roads and unrestricted roads. The Township Committee is looking into the requirements for restricted roadways. The portable sign reminding truckers to refrain from engine braking on Rt. 206 has been replaced for a period of time.
c. Permission to Use Right of Way – 56 Tuttle Avenue
The property owner of 56 Tuttle Avenue, Svetlana Panasik, is proposing a new driveway access for 56 Tuttle Avenue onto a Right of Way (Bedminster Terrace). A title search revealed that Bedminster Terrace is an unimproved street owned by Bedminster Township. A meeting to discuss a hold harmless agreement that includes all involved property owners was discussed on January 24th. Attorney Belardo is preparing a document for all to sign.
d. Pluckemin Park
Inspection of the property by Code Enforcement and Zoning revealed several violations that are being addressed by the new property manager who has both a financial and timing commitment for the project. The Township Committee will monitor this matter, asking Admin. Sullivan to follow-up with the Zoning Official on the status of the repairs.

a. Readington Township – An Ordinance of the Township of Readington to Amend Article IV “District Regulations” of Chapter 148 “Land Development” to Create an Inclusionary Housing Zone also known as Multi-Family Affordable Housing 1 District (MRAH-1) – ORDINANCE #4-2019 WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION AT A PUBLIC HEARING ON FEB. 19TH, 2019.
b. Readington Township – An Ordinance of the Township of Readington to Amend Article IV “District Regulations” of Chapter 148 “Land Development” to Create an Inclusionary Housing Zone also known as Village Residential Affordable Housing 1 District (VRAH-1) – ORDINANCE #5-2019 WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION AT A PUBLIC HEARING ON FEB. 19TH, 2019.
c. New Jersey American Water – Public Notice of the filing of an Amended Petition to change the levels of purchased water and purchased wastewater treatment adjustment clauses, which could result in an increase or decrease to existing water and sewer rates. The public is invited to attend on Feb. 28, 2019 at 5:30 pm at the Howell Township Municipal Building, Howell, NJ 07731.
